We are still recovering from jet lag, but still sometimes think that we are in China. The trip was really wonderful. The weather was the best that anyone could ask for, and Mt. Huangshan was really breathtaking. All of our local tour guides were great - especially Stella and Alice who were with us in Shanghai and Huangshan. Joe Julian and Mr. Lue were also very helpful, though we spent less time with them. We were also glad to have the skillful drivers that we did, as we certainly couldn't have been able to navigate the roadways ourselves - it was difficult enough as a pedestrian. The pace was just right for us - we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves without feeling rushed or stressed to meet any particular deadline.
The food was OK, and our local guides adapted the menu items to fulfill our particular needs - however, being of Asian descent, we had expected that the native foods would be less geared to western palates as they did - and we did see the same style of dishes repeated very often - like the sweet and sour fish - so we thought that it must be the most popular way of preparation in the regions around Shanghai. So - the next time we are planning a trip, we'll be sure to check into what the local dishes for the regions would offer and state our preferences, if any. The cooking class was a novelty both to us, our guide and the chef and kitchen staff, and we found it to be quite an adventure.
All in all, we had a most enjoyable trip. Thank you for coordinating and organizing it for us. We took many pictures and have beautiful memories of our visit to China, and we will certainly think of having you arrange any future tours that we might be embarking on in China as well as recommend your services to anyone who might be thinking of a China tour.
