A meeting was held for '2007 Lhasa Shoton Festival, also known as Sour Milk Drinking Festival, and detailed work and schedule have been set up.
The Shoton Festival will be held on August 12 in Tibet. It will last longer, has more various contents and in larger scale as well. Besides traditional Buddhist activities and opening and closure ceremony, there will be 24 different kinds of literature performances including traditional Tibetan drama, horsemanship and variety shows, etc. There will also be six business promotion activities.
A lamp show will be held during the festival which will be the first lamp show in Lhasa. It will last six days, which will make Lhasa an "ever-bright city".
