Lhasa Railway Station is under final construction and will be put into trial operation this July 1, according to the vice manager of the Lhasa Railway Station Project, Shang Zhihua.
The new Lhasa Railway Station stands at the Newu New District which is located in southwest Lhasa. At the building sites of Newu Bridge, road in front of the station square and Lhasa Railway Station Square, workers are busy with construction.
A Sichuan migrant worker expressed that they would absolutely fulfill their work to ensure finishing the construction before July 1 on time, though there were some difficulties.
Shang introduced that Lhasa Railway Station sits at 3,600 meters above the sea level. This project marks not only an ending but a symbol project of Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Covering an area of 2,305 square meters, the station can be divided into different parts including the main station body, square, east and west service areas and six platforms. The main structure features a Tibetan architecture style.
Currently, the busy fitment for Lhasa Railway Station is smoothly proceeding. Shang Zhihua recommended that after the completion on July 1, the station will just put into trial operation though different functions are perfect.
