A housing project for Tibetan farmers and herders of Jam Village, Shiquanhe town in Ngari was launched with a total investment of 4.1 million yuan (about 0.5125 million US dollars) by state government.
As planned, this project will cover a total area of 4,890 square meters for 218 locals from 65 households. Among them, 20 households will enjoy new houses about 100 square meters each.
The houses will be Tibetan style buildings based upon stone structures. All the construction will be completed in September and the houses will be put into operation at the end of 2006.
