With the tourism climax and border trade between China and Nepal, the first direct bus linking Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region and Katmandu, capital of Nepal is hopeful to resume to traffic during the coming May Day.
After Nepal Industry and Business Union took part in the China Spring Trade Fair in Guangzhou, the resuming of direct bus between Lhasa and Katmandu is under preparation. Furthermore, the renovation of Nylam-Zham section of China-Nepal Highway has started.
China-Nepal Highway is a friendship bridge between China and Nepal and it is also the only international highway in Tibet. Since its operation in 1965, the China-Nepal Highway has contributed a lot to the material transport and economic exchange among Lhasa, Xigaze and Zham Port. At the end of April, delegates from China and Nepal will discuss the resuming of direct bus between Lhasa and Katmandu, sources from Lhasa Evening.
A multi-language (Chinese, English, Tibetan and Nepali) speaking steward and two drivers will render top quality service and the Lhasa-Katmandu direct bus is scheduled to be on voyage at nine am. every Tuesday and Friday.
